Brevard Symphony Orchestra to perform at final IRSA season concert

VERO BEACH — The Indian River Symphonic Association will present its final concert for the 2009-10 season at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 11 at the Community Church of Vero Beach. Under the direction of Maestro Christopher Confessore, the orchestra will perform a program titled Postcards from America. Cello soloist, Julie Albers will be featured in Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto.

The program consists of:

Notions – Gregory Smith

Cello Concerto – Antonin Dvorak

Grand Canyon Suite – Ferde Grofe

 

Ms. Albers, born in 1980, began violin studies at the age of two, and switched to the cello at age four. She made her major orchestral debut with the Cleveland Orchestra in 1998, and thereafter has performed in recital and with orchestras in the U.S., Europe, Korea, Taiwan and New Zealand. Ms. Albers’s current engagements include performances with the Florida Orchestra, and the Utah, Vancouver, San Diego, Edmonton, Memphis, Syracuse, West Virginia, Brevard and Fairfax Symphony Orchestras.
