Lawrence James Hicks, 82, died March 21, 2010, at Sterling House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Flint, Mich. and lived in Fenton, Mich. and Vero Beach. He was a Coast Guard veteran.
He graduated from the University Of Michigan Law School and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He worked for many law firms in Michigan including Beltz & Beam, Beancroft, John Nickoal, Randy Schmidlin and Salim.
He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association and a former Sea Oaks board.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Nanette Hicks; son, Michael James Hicks Jr. of East Lansing, Mich.; daughters, Kimberly and Lisa Hicks, both of Fenton, Mich; three grandchildren, one step-grandson, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Dominic Hicks.

A memorial service will be in Michigan.
