Paul F. Wantland, 83, died March 18, 2010, at his home.
He was born in New Albany, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach for 16 years, coming from Jackson, Miss. He was a field engineer for General Electric Co. and held several management positions in the steel industry for Florida Steel and Milton Manufacturing.
He was a member of The Community Church and Helping Angels at The Community Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Wantland of Valrico and Norman Wantland of Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Donna Pooler of Palm City; brother, James Wantland of Sarasota; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Alice L. Wantland.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. March 26 at the Grace Chapel of The Community Church with the Rev. Carol Trax officiating.
