Joanne Krzywicki, 56, Sebastian

Joanne Krzywicki, 56, died Feb. 26, 2010, at her home.

She was born in Nanticoke, Pa., and lived in Sebastian for 22 years, coming from Vero Beach.

She was a licensed practical nurse in Vero Beach. She was a member of the Moose, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, the American Legion Auxilary, the Orioles Auxilary, The Eagles and the Italian American Club.

Survivors include her father, Joe Luczak of Nanticoke. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amelia Luczak.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 75 Maiden Lane, Suite 603, New York, N.Y. 10038-4810.

No services are planned at this time.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. Man shot after charging at deputy with small sword

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 29-year-old man who was shot by a deputy after charging at the officer with a small sword, was hospitalized late Friday, officials said. The unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Indian River County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers said. The deputy who fired the shot was not injured. The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave, which is protocol for police-involved shootings.
