Talking Drums lecture enjoyed by audience

VERO BEACH– During Black History Month, audiences were treated to something very special.  On Thursday, February 25, Myron Jackson, drummer and griot (storyteller), presented Talking Drums, a combination of the history and sound of African drumming as it changed and spread from Africa to America.  The event was one of six speakers at the Emerson Center’s Florida Humanities Series.

The last two performances in the Humanities Series will be on March 11, In Their Own Words by Michael Jepson, PhD, marine anthropologist and on April 8, From Hard Times to Hard Rock, with Seminole scholar, Patsy West.

Admission to each is complimentary and all performances will begin at 7 p.m. Wilmington Trust is the Presenting Sponsor and ABC Schumann Printing is the Printing Sponsor.
