Lillian Simon, 89, died Feb. 28, 2010, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 2005, coming from Babylon, N.Y. She was of the Jewish faith.
Before retirement, she owned a candy store and luncheonette in Lindenhurst, N.Y.
She was a founding member of the Hauppauge, N.Y., Association for the Help of Retarded Children.
Survivors include her son, Ira Simon of Vero Beach; daughter, Sarah Cooper of North Babylon, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Simon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A service will be at Temple Beth Shalom in Long Island, N.Y. followed by interment at Wellwood Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y.
