UU Church to host Choral Festival

VERO BEACH — Choir singers from Unitarian Universalist congregations all over Florida will be participating in the Fourth Annual Florida District UU Choral Festival, to be held this year at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Vero Beach on Sunday, February 28.  Visitors are welcome.

The music of four UU composers will be presented by 100 voices at the worship service at 10 a.m. on February 28, with three new anthems written for the Festival this year by Jamie Sterritt of Orlando (“We Live in Possibility” and “Mansion of Faith”) and Dave Zabriskie of Utah (“A Moment Comes, A Moment Goes”), rounded out with a published work by composer Elizabeth Alexander of Minnesota (“Trust the Seeds”).

Previous festivals have been held in Gainesville, Clearwater and Orlando. Ann Hossler is director of music at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and Rosie Murphy is serving as choral festival coordinator.

UUFVB is located on the southeast corner of 16th Street and 27th Avenue.
