Mary Alice Roberts, 80, Gifford

Mary Alice Roberts, 80, died Feb. 4, 2010, at Consulate Health Care.

She was born in Americus, Ga., and lived in Gifford since 1946, coming from her birthplace. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jehovah Witnesses, Vero Beach.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, David Roberts of Gifford; daughters, Alberta Bell, Shirley Pryor, Alvina Glenn and Kimberla Roberts, all of Vero Beach, Esther Stuart of Washington, D.C., Brenda Tillman of Tallahassee, Judy Straight of Okeechobee and Deidra Ausby of Sebastian; sons, James Roberts of Washington, D.C., Gary Roberts of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Charles Roberts and Timothy Roberts, both of Vero Beach; sisters, Edna Turner of Vero Beach, and Ora D. Williams. Mary Clark and Evelyn Floyd, all of Americus; brothers, Willie Ross of Gainesville and James Clark and Author Clark, both of Jacksonville; stepsons, David Roberts Jr. and Earl Roberts, both of Orlando; stepdaughter, Annie Ruth Starke of Orlando; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Roberts III; and brother, John Ross.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Vero Beach.
