Reflections of Light & Retrospective at Artists Guild Gallery

VERO BEACH — “Reflections of Light,” dramatic works in oil by Guest Artist Muci Clemens will be featured by the Artists Guild Gallery from March 1st through March 30th.  The Artists Guild Gallery will also be celebrating its 20th Anniversary with “Retrospective,” a special exhibit within the Gallery featuring the art of former Gallery members.  An Opening Reception for both “Reflections of Light” and “Retrospective” will be held Friday, March 5, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and is free and open to the public.  Join us for wine and hors d’oeuvres, great art and friendly artists … and enjoy over ten rooms of diverse and dynamic art.

A master at painting light and shadow on almost any subject from still life to landscapes and portraits, Muci Clemens paints in both a representational and impressionistic style in oil and pastel.  Much of Muci’s work is influenced by the rebirth of nature in all its amazing metamorphosis, and in using her colorful palette she translates her quest for beauty and light into incredible works of art.  “The therapeutic act of painting,” says Muci, “with all the intensity required to depict light, shadow and color on a one-dimensional surface, is a conscious choice that forces me to focus on all the positive, beautiful things of the natural world-the beauty of rich ripe fruit, a child’s face, flowers in a garden, a day at the beach.  This is my passion, my joy.”

Muci studied art at the Art Students League in New York City, and earned her degree in Art and Applied Arts from San Diego State University.  After a career in graphic design, she decided to pick up the brush and devote herself to painting full time.  She has been fortunate to have studied under Daniel Green, renowned portrait artist, along with Albert Handell, David Dunlop, Don Nice, Liz Haywood-Sullivan, and mentoring with Clayton Beck.  She periodically refreshed her skills with courses at Silvermine School of Art in Norwalk, Connecticut.

The Gallery is located at 1974 14th Avenue, Vero Beach in the new Downtown Dine and Design (3D) District.  Hours are Mon.-Fri. 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Sat. 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
