Sebastian River Chamber of Commerce receives proclamation

SEBASTIAN — The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce received a proclamation from The City of Sebastian recognizing the Chamber’s 2010 Concerts in the Park Series. Beth Mitchell, Executive Director of the Chamber accepted the Proclamation at the City’s January 6th meeting.

“This concert series fulfills all three elements in the Chamber’s mission to support business, promote tourism and work on quality of life events,” Mitchell stated. “Additionally, while the funds for this project come from the City’s CRA District, the Chamber donates over one hundred hours of staff time to make it happen. Our corporate sponsor, Melbourne International Airport, underwrites the concerts so we can bring it to our community.”

 

The concert on Friday, January 15th, featured He Said She Said Rocks, and marked the tenth consecutive year the Chamber of Commerce has hosted the event.  Concerts are conducted free of charge on Friday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Riverview Park on U.S. 1 in Sebastian. Seven more concerts are scheduled through June and include February 19- Straight Ahead with Tina Stefanos (swing band); March 5 – Remember When; March 19 – SRHS Jazz Ensemble & Steel Drum Band; April 16 – Mike and Kayte’s Acoustic Pop Tour; April 30 – Atlantic Bluegrass; May 21 – The Nouveaux Honkies and June 18 – MJ Wicker & Matt Manning.

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.  Parking is available on side streets surrounding Riverview Park.
