Gary D. Chamberlain, 67, Vero Beach

Gary D. Chamberlain, 67, died Jan. 18, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Middlesex County, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 15 years, coming from his birthplace.

Before retirement, he was a truck driver.

Survivors include his son, Joe Chamberlain of Lehigh Acres; daughter, Dorann Granger of Cape Coral; sister, Arlene Grennen of Vero Beach; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be in North Fort Myers at a later date.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. Man shot after charging at deputy with small sword

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 29-year-old man who was shot by a deputy after charging at the officer with a small sword, was hospitalized late Friday, officials said. The unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Indian River County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers said.
