Vero Beach Elks to sponsor St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Vero Beach Elk’s Lodge # 1774 is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Indian River County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled for Sunday, March 14. The parade will be held beginning at 1 p.m. along 14th Avenue in downtown Vero Beach.

Elk members have formed various parade committees and have been working toward a successful and enjoyable saint Patrick’s event since early October. Any group, organization, band etc. that would like to participate in this Grand Irish Event may contact the Elk’s Lodge #1774 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade committee.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations. Howle, Zudans win in Vero; Kinchen, McPartlan, Iovino in Sebastian

All results are in for the Vero Beach and Sebastian municipal elections. Voters have returned Harry Howle to the Vero Beach Council and Bob McPartlan and Linda Kinchen to the Sebastian Council. Val Zudans will join Howle on the Vero Council, while Albert Iovino will round out the last of three seats up for grabs on the Sebastian Council.
