VERO BEACH — The Indian River Symphonic Association will present a concert by the Moscow State Radio Symphony Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 30.  Music Director Alexei Kornienko and Principal Guest Conductor Robert Cole will provide a delightful evening of favorite Russian music.  The program will consist of:

Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov – May Night: Overture

Igor Stravinsky – Petrouchka for Orchestra

Igor Stravinsky – The Firebird Suite for Orchestra

Renovations to the concert venue in the Community Church have resulted in changes to the seating arrangements and ticket holders should plan to arrive a little earlier than usual to find their seats.  Tickets are priced at $40.00 each. This concert is sold out, but returned tickets might become available.

11-year-old breaks into church, steals laptop on Christmas Day

GIFFORD — An 11-year-old who deputies said broke into a church and stole a laptop on Christmas Day, was detained. Deputies also arrested the boy's mother after saying she failed to report the boy as missing. The Gifford youth told deputies he stole the $700 laptop because "he wanted something to play with," reports show. Deputies said the juvenile was a runaway. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The coronavirus didn't stop worshipers from using creative ideas to hold church services while also keeping a social distance. Several people tuned in to 88.1 FM Sunday morning to hear Pastor Josh Robinson deliver a powerful message. Vero Beach Baptist Church members, including one wearing a medical mask, sat in their vehicles at South County Regional Park, watching and listening to Robinson's reassuring message about holding on to faith. Hometown star Jake Owen holds annual benefit concert

Jake Owen, Vero’s native born Platinum-certified recording artist, drew enthusiastic fans from around the country when he visited last weekend, bringing along a few of his country music friends to join him for three packed weekend events.
