VERO BEACH — Cocktails with a Twist, Planned Parenthood’s annual Vero Beach fundraiser is set for Tuesday, March 23 at the Vero Beach Country Club. It will be a casually elegant evening, with cocktails, hearty hors d’oeuvres and an entertaining dance exhibition. Funds raised will help ensure that Planned Parenthood’s programs and services in Indian River County will continue to thrive. All proceeds will go directly to education, health care and advocacy programs. Examples which show the need for Planned Parenthood’s services are clear:
Publicly funded family planning clinics like Planned Parenthood’s help prevent 62,000 unintended pregnancies each year in Florida; one in four young women in the United States is infected with a sexually transmitted disease, and Florida’s teen pregnancy rate is the sixth highest in the nation.
