Walter J. LeClair, 73, Vero Beach

Walter J. LeClair, 73, died Jan. 7, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center.

He was born in Glens Falls, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 1996, coming from Burnt Hills, N.Y. He received a bachelor’s degree from Siena College in Albany, N.Y., and a master’s degree from the University of Albany.

He was a middle school and high school principal in Schnectady, N.Y., and later a director at Northeast Parent and Child.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann LeClair of Vero Beach; daughter, Jackie Myers of Mechanicville, N.Y.; sons, Marc LeClair of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Matthew LeClair of Rexford, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Moody.
