Vista Royale water customers must boil water after meter breaks

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Twelve units at Vista Royale were temporarily without water Thursday morning , Jan. 7, after a compound meter broke and had to be replaced. Due to the water outage, those Indian River County Water customers are being reminded to boil their water before using it.

Those affected are residents in Building 100 on Springlake Drive within the Vista Royale community.

Bottled water can be used instead of boiled water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and hand washing dishes.

This boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. The department is unable to provide an exact time of survey completion, though it should be no more than 72 hours.

A rescission notice will be distributed.
