Fred McOwen Greene Jr., 80, died Dec. 25, 2009 at Indian River Estates Medical Center.He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Vero Beach for four years coming from his birthplace. He served in the US Marine Corps.He was of the Protestant Faith and graduated from Duke University, Durham, NC.He was the Owner of Greene Manufacturing, Inc.Survivors include his son, Fred Greene of Tampa; daughters, Deborah Jackson of Phoenixville, Pa., Linda Mooney of Lansdale, Pa.; brother, Walter E. Greene of Sanford, NC; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avery L. Greene in 1994.Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Jan. 12 at Arlington National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots at www.toysfortots.org in memory of Fred McOwen Greene Jr.Arrangements are entrusted to Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory.
