Mattie Nichols, 93, died Dec. 22, 2009, at Atlantic Healthcare.
She was born in Spring Vale, Ga., and lived in Indian River County since early childhood. She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Nichols; brothers, Cleveland Hatten and Claude Hatten; and sisters, Lucille McGriff, Alice Moore and Mandy Wilson.
Visitation will be at noon Dec. 30 at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach, followed by a service at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at Gifford Cemetery in Gifford.
