Edward L. Gerardi, 86, died Dec. 13, 2009, at his home.He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 19 years, coming from Farmingdale, N.Y. He was a pharmacist, a chemistry teacher for 25 years at East Meadow High School in East Meadow, N.Y., and an adjunct professor of chemistry at Nassau Community College. He served in the Army in Europe during World War II. He graduated in 1950 from Fordham University with a pharmacy degree. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joan Whelan Gerardi; sons, Richard Gerardi of Daytona Beach Shores and Christopher Gerardi of Pittsfield, Mass.; daughter, Elizabeth Rubenacker of Brockport, N.Y.; brothers, Vincent Gerardi of Chestertown, Md. and Armand Gerardi of Orange, Conn.; sisters, Tina Gustafson of Orange, Conn. and Rose Gerardi of Marietta, Ga.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Didio; and five brothers.
