Lee Turner von Stein, 78, Vero Beach

Lee Turner von Stein, 78, died Nov. 26, 2009. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 2000, coming from Fort Lauderdale. He served several years as a lieutenant in the Army and was stationed outside Stuttgart, Germany and worked 15 years for Florida Power & Light Co., where he became the Broward County supervisor of overhead lines. He then joined his father and brother at Charles A. von Stein Inc., where he worked in property management and real estate development. He was a member of the Indian River Club in Vero Beach, Hound Ears Club in Blowing Rock, N.C., and the Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach, Minn. He graduated from Lafayette College in 1953, earning a bachelor’s degree in administrative engineering. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jan von Stein of Vero Beach; sons, Kirk von Stein of Vero Beach, Bruce von Stein of Plymouth, Minn., and John von Stein of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and one grandchild.
