June E. Carpenter, 82, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.Mrs. Carpenter was born Jan. 30, 1927 in Morgantown, W.V., and moved to Vero Beach in 2006 from Parkersburg, W.V. For a brief period she had worked for Sears and Rite Aid Pharmacy. She was a member of the Stout Memorial Methodist Church in Parkersburg, W.V.Survivors include her sons John E. Carpenter of Huntington, W.V. and James K. Carpenter of Boise, Idaho; daughter Barbara J. Ashby of North Hutchinson Island; brother George G. King of Malmora, N.J.; sister Mae Suter of Gibbstown, N.J.; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband T. Wendell Carpenter in 1980.Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Parkersburg, W.V. at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
