USO Rocks America/Landsharks and Landmarks set for Feb. 19

VERO BEACH — The Paris Air Hangar, on the western end of the Vero Beach Municipal Airport, will be transformed into a bygone era on Friday, Feb. 19 for USO Rocks America/Landsharks and Landmarks, hosted by Vero Heritage, Inc. to benefit the Heritage Center and the Indian River Citrus Museum. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 6:30 p.m. and the entertainment starts at 7 p.m.

The event recognizes the use of the Heritage Center as a serviceman’s center during World War II, and honors both the history of the Heritage Center and the men and women of the armed forces, past and present.  All are welcome to attend …young and old, military and civilian.  Attire is dressy casual, but you are also welcome to dress in your favorite “USO” era – 1940’s to the present.

Built in 1935 as a Community Building, the Heritage Center will celebrate its 75th Anniversary in 2010 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Proceeds from this event assist in the preservation of this important landmark which continues to be a center of activity for the community.

The evening’s festivities will include entertainment by The Landsharks, catering by Bono’s, unique games of chance, a lively auction and, of course, dancing.  Tickets are $60 per person, $110 for two.

Event partners include Paris Air, George E. Warren Corp, Bill Bryant and Associates, Knight’s Armament Co., Brackett Family Limited Partnership, Ryan Weaver Insurance, Inc., Erin Kane- Designed by Erin and Consulting on Fundraising.com.
