Oslo Middle cheerleaders, celebrities raise $1,000 with car wash

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Cheerleaders from Oslo Middle School and community celebrities including Sheriff Deryl Loar, county commissioners and school board members raised $1,000 and collected 200 canned goods to benefit Harvest Food and Outreach Center.

Coach Jessica Porter and the Oslo Middle School Cheerleaders teamed up with Community Celebrities to host a Celebrity Car Wash and Canned Food Drive that was held Nov. 21 at MidCoast Tire Service, 870 US 1, in Vero Beach.

 

 

Community Celebrities included State Attorney Bruce Colton, Sheriff Deryl Loar, Oslo Middle Principal Deborah Long, County Commissioners Peter O’Bryan and Joseph Flesher, School Board members Carol Johnson and Karen Disney Bromback, Supervisors of Elections Kay Clem, and County Firefighter Toby Turn.

Sponsors for the event included MideCoast Tire Service, Riverside National Bank, Smith Services, Steil Oil, Casey’s Place, Elgin Marble, Staski Enterprises, Oslo PSTA, and Neighborhood Diabetes.
