New exhibits at Public Art venues

VERO BEACH — Two new art exhibits at the Indian River County Courthouse and the Indian River County Administration Building feature a wide variety of two and three dimensional art pieces by local artists.

The County Administration Building, 1801 27th Street in Vero Beach, will be exhibiting works from the Sebastian River Art Club through January 28.  Members’ paintings include local scenery, flora and fauna in a diverse range of styles and mediums.

The Indian River County Courthouse, 2000 16th Avenue in Vero Beach exhibits feature the artwork of sculptor Victoria Geller and beautiful pastel paintings by members of the Pastel Society of Eastern Florida on the first floor.  The second and third floor galleries feature two resident artists from Gallery 14, Janice P. Taylor and Dorothy Hudson.  This exhibition runs through mid January 2010.

Both venues are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..  Local artists are encouraged to apply for future shows.  For information about the public art exhibitions, visit the Cultural Council of Indian River County at www.cultural-council.org.
