Hospital hosts free lecture Friday on video-assisted lung cancer surgery

VERO BEACH — The third lecture in the Indian River Medical Center Cancer Series entitled, “Team Approach to Treating Lung Cancer, including Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery” will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at the Richardson Center, Mueller Campus of Indian River State College, 6155 College Lane, Vero Beach.

Presenters will be Dr. Stuart Byer, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist; Dr. Michelle Maholtz, M.D., Board Certified Pulmonologist; Dr. Mark Malias, M.D., Board Certified Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon and Dr. Frederick Weeks, M.D., Board Certified Medical Oncologist.

Directions: From the corner of State Road 60 and 58th Avenue, go south on 58th Avenue to the first light (just past Ruby Tuesdays Restaurant). Turn right onto College Lane. Continue for ¼ mile to the first building on your right-the Richardson Center.

Looking ahead, Lecture 4 in the series will be “Can You Prevent Basal & Squamous Cell Skin Cancer?” on Jan. 22.
