Joan Baxter Hill, 72, of Vero Beach, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at VNA Hospice House. She was born Nov. 18, 1926 in Peekskill, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach 2 years ago, coming from Mahopac, N.Y. Mrs. Hill worked as a dental receptionist prior to retirement. She was a longtime volunteer at Putnam Community Hospital, Carmel, N.Y., and was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, in Mahopac. Mrs. Hill is survived by two sons, C. Brian (Mareen) Hill of Vero Beach and Timothy (Lynn) Hill of Mahopac; daughter, Karen (James) Czysz of Vero Beach; two sisters, Barbara Stabe of Savannah, Ga. and Patricia McCabe of Mahopac; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Hill was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Hill and sister, Charlene Azzaretti. Services will be held in Peekskill, N.Y., at a later date.
