Nelson C. Hyatt, 80, of Vero Beach, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Dresden, Ontario, Canada, and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 37 years, coming from Northville, MI. Mr. Hyatt was of Catholic Faith. He was a member of the Association of General Contractors and worked as a general contractor for 53 years, constructing numerous industrial buildings, universities, homes, high schools and race tracks. Mr. Hyatt is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Hyatt; children, Nelson M. Hyatt, Sharon Conklin, David M. Hyatt, Darryl C. Hyatt and Vivian Hyatt Arnold; brother; Jerald; sisters, Donna and Mary; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren He is predeceased by his beloved grandson, Jeffrey Hyatt Arnold. A private memorial service is scheduled at a later date. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County, 2300 5th Avenue, Suite 150, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
