VERO BEACH – Chicks with Checks, a women’s social and philanthropic organization is launching a local chapter in Vero Beach. Chicks with Checks, which began in Charleston, SC in 2006, introduces women to a variety of local nonprofits in a fun social setting, and provides an easy and inexpensive way to lend support.
Chicks with Checks invites women to a monthly Party with a Purpose, to learn about local causes while networking in a social atmosphere. Each month, a selected non-profit beneficiary has the opportunity to share their mission, receives a donation and reaches a new audience without the hassle of planning an event or campaign. There is no rigid networking structure and no formal presentation. Chicks with Checks monthly membership dues constitute your non-profit donation and guests pay an amount similar to that of an evening out.
The Vero Beach Chapter is led by Donna Vernon an 18 year Vero Beach resident. Her first order of business is to create a leadership team comprised of women who are dedicated to the community. The leadership team will select beneficiaries and plan the monthly Party with a Purpose gatherings.
