Josephine M. (Koch) Boyer, 87, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Oct. 26 at Indian River Estates Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1922 in Lehighton, Pa.; she lived in Allentown, Pa; Florham Park, N.J.; and Bethlehem, Pa.; before moving to Vero Beach over 13 years ago. While in New Jersey, she was employed by Ohaus Scale and then Drew University as Administrative Aid to the Dean of Students and later as its Assistant Director of Financial Aid. Mrs. Boyer was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. While at Indian River Estates, she remained active; volunteering in its medical facility and serving as treasurer of the “New To You” shop for several years. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Boyer; of Vero Beach; 3 sons, Richard Boyer of Bethlehem, Pa.; Edwin Boyer of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Robert Boyer of Stewartsville, N.J.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Palmerton, Pa. on Saturday, November 7th at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Indian River Estates Chapel for audio equipment, 2100 Indian Creek Blvd. West, Vero Beach, FL 32966 in memory of Mrs. Boyer.
