Oslo Middle student arrested for threatening another with knife

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An eighth grader at Oslo Middle School was arrested Monday after authorities say he threatened another student with a 5 1/2-inch switch blade knife on campus.

According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, the 13-year-old pulled the knife on a fellow student and threatened to cut the victim. During that time, the student repeatedly opened and closed the blade, witnesses told authorities.

The victim told a teacher about the incident, who in turn alerted authorities.

The assistant principal found a knife in the student’s possession. A deputy then placed the student under arrest.

The student faces charges of aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

Due to the student’s age, VeroNews.com has declined to name the student.
