A joint project of Indian River County and IRSC, the 30,000-square-foot library located on the College’s Mueller Campus offers extensive holdings for academic research and for public reading and enjoyment, including over 90 databases and more than 48,000 books, periodicals and media items.

The Brackett Library will be dedicated on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m., followed by tours open to the public.

Sponsored by Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, the spacious children’s area is designed around an attractive Peter Pan theme, while the Young Adult section is enlivened by a Pirates of the Caribbean motif. A Disney character will be at the library Tuesday to greet children following the dedication ceremony.

Full electronic and print library services will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at noon when patrons can begin checking out books and Halloween children’s activities will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.

The library is named in honor of Vero Beach community leaders Bob and Sandy Brackett for their generous support of the Library through the IRSC Foundation.
