Robert Sullivan, 83, of Sebastian, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born May 18, 1926 in Norfolk, N.Y. and was a resident of Indian River County for 20 years, coming from Syracuse, N.Y. Mr. Sullivan was a welder for Carrier Air Conditioning, which became UTC, for 47 years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy G. Sullivan of Sebastian; son Patrick Sullivan of Liverpool, N.Y.; two daughters Kathleen Sullivan of Melbourne and Nancy Sullivan of Syracuse, N.Y.; sister Betty Laplatney of New York; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. A private memorial service will be held.
