Vero Beach man, 40, accused of getting girl, 15, pregnant

VERO BEACH — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40-year-old man accused of impregnating a teenager.

Authorities arrested Roy Ray Robinson, of 1690 5th Ave., Vero Beach, Oct. 1 after a paternity test confirmed that Robinson was the father of the victim’s baby. The baby was born in March and, according to the Sheriff’s Office, was conceived in June 2008, during which time the teen was in Robinson’s care.

Both the victim, identified as S.S., and Robinson denied that Robinson was the father, according to the arrest report. However, DNA confirmed the paternity.

Even after the paternity test results were revealed to the victim, the girl continued to deny that Robinson was the father.

Robinson faces charges of sexual battery and impregnating a minor, according to the arrest report. Further information about his arrest was not immediately available.
