Florida Thespians District XI presents Broadway-Revue Benefit at St. Edward’s School

VERO BEACH — Theatre Departments from 30 high schools in Brevard County, Indian River County, and Osceola County have joined together to present the first-ever “Act Out, Fight Aids;” an all-Broadway musical-revue benefit on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts located at 1895 Saint Edward’s Drive and South A1A in Vero Beach. Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going to the Florida State Thespians Annual fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).   A not-to-be-missed, family-oriented night of knock’em dead high school theatrical talent; the best the Treasure Coast has to offer! Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation’s leading industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant making organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response from the American Theatre community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By drawing upon the talents, resources, and generosity of this community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since its founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $160 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV or HIV-related illnesses. BC/EFA funds 31 Florida-based AIDS service organizations annually with over $160,000 in grants, which the Florida Thespians realize as a call to action to support BC/EFA.
