St. Francis Manor executive director resigns to do consulting work

VERO BEACH — Paul Ringenberger, who has lead St. Francis Manor for the past 14 months, has resigned from his post as executive director. He will instead do consulting work for doctors who have an interest in opening a community health clinic for the uninsured.

“I’ve enjoyed my tenure at St. Francis Manor but other opportunities have presented themselves that were quite attractive,” said Ringenberger.

While at St. Francis Manor, Ringenberger oversaw major apartment renovations were performed, numerous grants were secured, the manor boardwalk was rebuilt, new landscaping projects were initiated, a highly successful Cinco de Mayo fundraising event was produced as well as other programs and activities that raised the profile of the Manor.

St. Francis Manor will be hosting an Open House on Sept. 25. During Ringenberger’s tenure with the guidance of Activities Director Lorane Smith, St. Francis Manor has opened its doors to non-resident seniors hosting dances, dinners and special events.

The partnership with Senior Resource Association has blossomed so much so that Senior Resources has relocated several programs to the Manor while renovation work is completed at the SRA facilities.

St. Francis Manor has been providing affordable, independent living to senior citizens on a limited income in an attractive, safe, socially supportive environment for 35 years.

St. Francis Manor was built with private funding and donations and is a non-denominational facility located at 1715 20th Ave. in Vero Beach.

“I will miss the residents and my incredible staff,” he said. “We became more than simply administrators and workers – we became advocates for the people we were hired to serve. To that end as a team, we accomplished great things and now is the time to help those in need of health care but can’t afford insurance. I love a challenge and I’m ready for the next one.”
