Wilmington Trust helps Boys & Girls Clubs members get ready for school

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County will be prepared and ready for school thanks to the generosity of Wilmington Trust who recently donated 48 backpacks filled with school supplies personally purchased by employees Christi Buck, Sarah Cobb, Kevin Brown, Halsey Smith, Rita Strauss and others.

Nationwide, Wilmington Trust participates in a back-to-school supply drive program and their Florida offices in Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Palm Beach counties have helped ensure that hundreds of children will start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Known as the positive place for kids, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County provides quality after-school and summer programs in the areas of education and career development; character and leadership development; the arts; sports, fitness and recreation; health and life skills; and community service. They have three clubhouses in Indian River County, one in Sebastian and two in Vero Beach. Plans call for expanding into Fellsmere and building a new club in Vero Beach in 2010. The top priority of the Boys & Girls Clubs is helping kids succeed in school and in life.
