VERO BEACH – At 4:30 p.m., Judge David Morgan excused two potential jurors due to scheduling concerns related to child care and kept 16 jurors for individual questioning about prior knowledge about the DUI trial of County Administrator Joe Baird.

Jury candidates were asked about what they had seen and read in the media and regarding conversations they had with co-workers, family and friends about the case.

Of the 16, no jurors so far were struck for cause by the prosecution and two were struck for cause by the defense.

The remaining 32 jurors were retired to the jury room to wait while the 16 are being questioned, with the goal of obtaining a jury on Monday and beginning opening arguments on Tuesday morning.
