Raymond Halleran, 72, Vero Beach

Raymond Halleran, 72, of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Mr. Halleran was born April 18, 1937, in Manchester, Conn., and moved to Vero Beach in 2003 from Ellington, Conn., where he lived for 31 years.

He had worked as a Systems Analyst for the Hartford Insurance Co. in Connecticut and worked at Home Depot in Vero Beach. He served in the US Army and was a member of the Connecticut Conservation Association, a volunteer at the Sebastian Inlet State Park and was passionate about fishing. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Cherie Halleran, of Vero Beach, son, Brian (Michele) Halleran, of Port Orange; sisters, Kathleen Reynolds, of Clayton, Del., and Barbara Campanelli, of Orange Park; and best friend and fishing buddy Bill Brennan, of Punta Gorda.

He was predeceased by his brother Col. Kenneth Halleran, of Virginia.

In accordance with his wishes there will be no services locally.
