UPDATE: Grovenor Estates’ no longer under boil water notice

UPDATE: Friday, Aug. 21Boil water notice rescinded.INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Water service remained shut down for repairs in Grovernor Estates after a water main break on Wednesday. The Indian River County Utilities Department is recommending all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological report shows the water is safe to drink. This process consists of two days of laboratory testing and can take up to 72 hours.

A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient to sanitize the water and bottled water may be used as an alternative. Residents who have any questions or concerns may contact the Utility Operations Center (772) 226-3400 or after hours at the South County Water Plant (772) 770-5068.
