Rose Mary ‘Sirvart’ Gallagher, 81, Vero Beach

Rose Mary “Sirvart” Gallagher, 81, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach with her family at her bedside. Mrs. Gallagher was born Dec. 27, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pa., and had been a resident of Vero Beach for a year, coming from Barrington, N.J.

Rose was highly regarded as an OB Nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital before her retirement. She was a member of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church in Philadelphia, where she served on the Ladies Guild and as Sunday School Superintendent. A dedicated and beloved volunteer, she was a member of the Armenian Relief Society. Her life was dedicated to raising her family, volunteering for her community, being a productive part of her church, and dedicated to her profession.

Survivors include her daughter, Marta Rose Gallagher, of Vero Beach; son, Dr. Michael (Joanne) Gallagher, of Vero Beach; grandchildren, Tracey Gallagher and R. Michael Gallagher II, both of Philadelphia, Jennifer Nause, of Hardwick, N.J., and Kevin Warner of Hatfield, Pa.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Robert M. Gallagher, in 1988; her parents, Misak and Isabelle Semerjian; and a sister Marta Sherinian.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
