FELLSMERE — The Red Bull Air Force skydive team made a detour in Fellsmere after flying off course while “cloud chasing” in Sebastian.

“That was us,” said Jon DeVore, the team manager and cinematographer. He added that no one was injured after landing miles from their launch site.

A Twitter member, @Sarah70007, tweeted about seeing six parachuters along Interstate 95 Thursday afternoon. DeVore said that the team “took a left instead of a right” while gliding along the edges of clouds. The team was practicing for future mountain jumps by using the clouds as a way to simulate a diving close to the mountain terrain.

The team waited alongside the highway, soaked from the rain moving through the area, until a couple of passersby stopped to offer them a lift back to the Sebastian Municipal Airport.

The Red Bull Air Force skydive team is in Sebastian this week filming scenes for its Human Flight 3-D film. They will be in Switzerland to continue filming Aug. 14.
