John Louis Bittle, Jr., 71, Sebastian

John Louis Bittle, Jr., 71, of Sebastian, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1938, in Meschanic, N.J. And moved here 25 years ago from New Jersey.

Mr. Bittle had worked for the Hillsborough Township Police department from 1965 to 1976 where he attained the rank of sergeant, he was also employed by Raritan Valley Disposal in Readington, N.J., before moving to Florida approximately 25 years ago where he worked for Fisher & Son. He was a member of the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company for many years. He served in the US Army in the US and Germany during the Cold War in the early 1960s. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; son, Patrick (Sonia) Bittle; a grandson, Travis, of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Thomas (Sharon) Bittle, of Meschanic, N.J.; a step-grandson, A.J. Whitney; an aunt, Joan Crum; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will take place at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, at No Name Bar in Sebastian. Further services will be held at later date in New Jersey.
