Candidates for Pruitt’s Florida Senate seat to hold competing events in Vero on same night

By Lisa ZahnerVERO BEACH — Joe Negron and Bill Ramos, the two major-party candidates for the District 28 Florida Senate seat being vacated by Ken Pruitt, will both be in town for events on Tuesday evening.Democrat Bill Ramos of Jensen Beach, a former U.S. Marine, mortgage broker and two-time candidate for the Florida House, will be the featured speaker at the Indian River County Democratic Party’s monthly town hall meeting and potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vero Beach Community Center, 2266 14th Avenue. Attendees are asked to either bring a dish to serve six people or to pay $5 at the door. This building is well-known as the old yacht dealership, near the marina.
