Workforce Solutions promotes 2009 Best Places to Work Program

Workforce Solutions presented a kick-off event at RBC Bank to promote and garner excitement for the 2009 Best Places to Work national program.  Frank Brogan, Florida Atlantic University President and former Lieutenant Governor of Florida, was the guest speaker at the July 8 event, which was attended by Human Resource professionals and employers, government officials and past award recipients. Dr. Juli Goldstein, staff veterinarian at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute’s Marine Mammal Research and Conservation Program, also made an appearance and was presented with a City proclamation by Vero Beach Mayor Sabe Abel.  A former student of Brogans, Goldstein was recently was named Ms. Florida United States 2009 and will be competing in Las Vegas in the 2009 Ms. United States Pageant. All Indian River County employers are invited to participate in the Best Places to Work program by completing a free survey which is used to calculate which companies will be chosen for one of eight awards. An awards luncheon to honor the 2009 winners will be held Thursday, October 8 at Pointe West.
