Vero Beach soldier Michael Gallahue’s unit gets care packages from military moms

VERO BEACH – Vero Beach High School graduate Michael Gallahue and his First Armed Division Second Brigade Combat Team Ironside unit, while stationed in Iraq for 14 months, received care packages from the Military Moms group of Vero Beach.Sgt. Gallahue, the son of Denise Gates of Vero Beach, is a native of Ridgewood, N.J. and a Vero Beach resident since 1990. He enlisted in the Army in 2006 and completed his basic training at Ft. Sill, Okla.  He is currently stationed in Baumholder, Germany, where he will marry his German fiancee, Catherine, on July 24. Gallahue will then return to Ft. Stewart, Ga. to await his next assignment.
