VERO BEACH — The Fourth Annual Dan K. Richardson Humanitarian Award Banquet, 5:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church Parish Hall, honors Father Richard Murphy and Holy Cross Catholic Church. The event benefits the Gifford Youth Activity Center. The banquet continues the tradition of recognizing local individuals for their humanitarian efforts. Father Murphy has agreed to accept the award on behalf of the people of Holy Cross. This is the primary annual fund-raiser for the Gifford Youth Activity Center, and funds raised enable the Center to continue its programs for at-risk youth, seniors, and the community.
