Vero Beach Airport Director Eric Menger elected president of Florida Exchange Clubs

VERO BEACH — On July 1, Vero Beach resident Eric Menger will take the helm of the Board of Directors of the Florida District Exchange Clubs. Menger, an Indian River County resident since 1962 and a 1977 Vero Beach High School graduate, works as director of the Vero Beach Airport. He is a 13-year member of the Treasure Coast Exchange Club. In his capacity as state Exchange Club president, he will be responsible for leading 30 clubs and nearly 1,000 Exchange Club members across the state. Menger was elected at the district’s annual convention in St. Petersburg on May 17. The Florida District Exchange Clubs are part of National Exchange Club, an all-volunteer, national service organization made up of nearly 800 clubs and more than 24,000 members. Exchange Clubs work to make their communities better places to live through programs of Americanism, community service, youth activities and their overarching national project, the prevention of child abuse.

There are five Exchange Clubs in Indian River County:

Vero Beach Exchange Club – noon Tuesdays at the Costa d’Este resort, 3244 Ocean Drive, Vero Beach

Indian River Exchange Club – noon Wednesdays at Culinary Capers, 727 22nd Street.

Treasure Coast Exchange Club – noon first and third Thursday at Culinary Capers, 727 22nd Street

Fellsmere Exchange Club – noon, first and third Monday at Marsh Landing restaurant on Broadway St., Fellsmere

Sebastian Exchange Club – noon Wednesdays at Capt. Hiram’s in the Tiffany Room, 1606 Indian River Dr., Sebastian
