Nancie Lou Staples, 74, of Barefoot Bay, died June 15, 2009, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. She was born on Jan. 16, 1935, in Ogdensburg, N.Y., and moved to Barefoot Bay 20 years ago from Hawkinsburg, N.Y. Prior to retirement she worked for New York State as an Unemployment Claims Examiner for 18 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.Survivors include her son, William R. Staples, of Middletown, N.J.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and companion, John White, of Barefoot Bay.She is predeceased by her daughter Christine Staples Tucker.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3375 20th Street #100 Vero Beach, FL 32960.Arrangements are by Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Sebastian.
