Jacqueline T. Simpson, 80, Vero Beach; owner Simtron Marine Electronics

Jacqueline T. Simpson, 80, of Vero Beach, died on June 23, 2009, at Hospice House in Vero Beach. She was born in Medford, Mass.

 

 She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Simpson, in 2008. They were married 44 years.

 

 

Survivors include her stepdaughters Barbara Jean Carr and Marion Buschbom, both of Ft. Myers, her dear friend, Kathleen Wooster, whom she considered a daughter; and a brother, Richard L. Tobin, of West Palm Beach.

 

Jacky attended Boston University and was employed for 7 years at Godfrey L. Cabot, in Boston, as an assistant to the chief economist. She moved to Miami in 1955 and was employed as production manager/media director for seven years at two nationally recognized advertising agencies.

 

She then met and married William S. Simpson in 1964 and became advertising director and purchasing manager of Simpson Marine Electronics. When the firm was sold, they moved to Boca Raton,and founded the firm, Simtron Marine Electronics. Ten years later they moved their business to Vero Beach, where they eventually retired.

 

Jacky was a dedicated political conservative and a huge supporter of the arts. She was also an accomplished artist.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Indian River Estates West under the direction of Chaplain Chad Elberson with a reception to follow.
